National Blue Ribbon School
In August 2008, Harvard Elementary School was named a Texas Exemplary School by the Texas Education Agency as part of the state accountability system. In Washington D.C., Secretary of Education Margaret Spellings named Harvard Elementary School a National Blue Ribbon School. This honor is given to only 200 of the top-performing schools in the United States each year.  Harvard has shown consistent improvement in student achievement over the past three years under the leadership of principal Kevin Beringer and an outstanding staff of educators.  An active parent and community have contributed their time and talents to help make this award possible. Principal Beringer indicates, "Harvard has a very strong instructional staff and specialists that implement the curriculum each day.  We have high expectations for teaching and learning."

We can plan more to make that space clean, safe and fun for our children. When you see the kids running on a safer, softer track, or when the lovely wrought-iron fencing goes in, give thanks for their generous support. We couldn’t do it all without our wonderful community.
