Music classes at Harvard enable children to explore and improve the quality of their human singing voices. Additionally, children learn about the mathematics of music in preparation for later performances as soloists and members of orchestras, bands, or choruses. Children compose and improvise music from the springboard of listening to a wide range of composers and performing musicians. One of my primary goals at Harvard is to stimulate excellence that permeates to classroom achievement, school competitions, and choral performances. This year, six students represented Harvard as "best of grade" achievers. And, one student was recognized as "best of school" winner.
